Construction of the Green Bay Processing Facility

Summer - Fall 2008

The Fox River Cleanup Group completed a detailed sampling and analysis program to refine the limits of selected areas scheduled for dredging in 2009. This program was extended through fall 2008 to areas of the river scheduled for dredging in subsequent years.

January 2009

The Fox River Cleanup Group submitted to the EPA and WDNR the Pre-Final Design (90%) for cleanup work to be performed from 2010 to completion.

April 28, 2009

Dredging operations begin

Summer 2009

Capping and sand covering operations begin.

Mid-November 2009

First year of operations conclude.  Dredging and processing exceed 2009 targets. 

April 5, 2010

Dredging resumes on the lower Fox River

September 2010

The Fox River Cleanup Project tops 700,000 work hours without a lost time incident (total does not include hours for transportation of sediment to the landfill). 

November 13, 2010

Dredging and processing operations conclude for 2010.  Second year operations exceed target goals every week of operations. 

April 18, 2011

The third year of dredging and processing begins.  

May 2, 2011

Capping and covering operations resume. 

August 2011

Dredging and processing conclude for the season.

October 31, 2011

Capping and covering operations conclude for the 2011 season.

May 2012

Operations resume for the 2012 season. 

November 2012

Dredging and processing conclude for the season.

April 2013

Dredging and processing operations resumed in OU4 on April 1, 2013.
